Asus Transformer Prime gets official, available in December (cnet)
Asus comes clean with its quad-core tablet, but you'll have to wait till
December to get one. While we don't have the local pricing and
availabilityjust yet, the 32GB version of the Transformer Prime costs US$499
in theUS, which is US$100 more than the original Transformer.After teasing the
audience at the AsiaDconference with a brief glimpse of its Transformer
Primetablet, Asus has revealed its full specs as promised. While this tablet
will indeed pack Nvidia's latest quad-core mobileprocessor, Tegra3, the
announcement also confirmed recent speculation thatTransformer Prime will only
be available in December. Also, despite thedelay, the Prime will debut with
Android Honeycomb 3.2, though Asussays it can be upgraded to Android 4.0. The
rest of the tablet however,is as impressive as you can get. First, the
Transformer Prime is slimmer at 8.3mm and at 586g, weighsless than its
predecessor. This compares well with the top tabletsavailable now, such as the
iPad 2 (8.8mm, 607g) and the Samsung GalaxyTab 10.1 (8.6mm, 565g). This
