Life Style PhotographyRum Village, South Bend Indiana

Josie is spending this week with us and we have some big plans to make sure we get our fill of all the snow. Last year, Josie received a sled for Christmas, but she never got to use it because every weekend that we had her, the snow that we had plenty of the week before was all of a sudden gone. Sunday, after church, Josie and I picked up her friend from our old neighborhood and went to Rum Village for some long overdue sledding.

The weather was perfect and there was just enough snow. Evelyn was the first one to go down and instantly ran into a tree. After sitting it out for a few minutes, she was quickly back on her feet and racing down the hill. We continued for about an hour and moved on to the South Bend Chocolate Company to warm up by the fire, drink hot chocolate, and play in the Cocoa Jungle Tree.

Fun was had by all.

Portrait Photography – Miller Residence, South Bend Indiana

Isabella was the absolute cutest little tyke. When I brought all of my stuff into her home the day of her photoshoot, she was very inquisitive. Most children ask lot of questions about what I’m doing as I set up, including why I’m doing it in their home. Isabella decided that she wanted to help me set up and figure out what everything does on her own. That didn’t last long; I gave her my bag of dress up clothes and she lost interest in my gear and moved on to being the little girly girl that she is. The jewelery was all over the table and floor within seconds.

This one is by far my favorite out of all them. She’s just so snuggly.

When I first started Guided Light Photography in 2007, I wasn’t convinced that I needed a month to month plan. Since early 2008, we have really taken this business to levels that were unimaginable. I am now realizing that my little pre-paid phone just isn’t cutting it anymore. Thus, I have been looking all over for the place to find the perfect cell phone, but most importantly the best cell phone plan.

What plan do you have?

How would you rate it?

Do you remember the Zach Morris phone?

I looked into my archive of images and realized that I had some that have not been blogged yet. So, as I put my tail between my legs, here is a great story for you of 3 very excited little kids about Christmas.

My sister’s two red-headed kids stayed the night at my parent’s house with us (Josie was there too) and I told them that we were going to have a great Black Friday because we were going to put up the Christmas Tree and make Rice Krispie Treats. Rylee, my adorable neice was SOO excited that she asked me when we’re going to put up the tree just about every 5 minutes. I told her that we had to make the Rice Krispie Treats first. Let’s just say she didn’t complain anymore.

Aden ALWAYS smiles for me, I was so happy to get him not smiling.

But, when I was trying to take pictures of Rylee, he wasn’t too happy. He jumped in and flashed me with the Aden that I love so much.

Rylee just doesn’t like me taking her picture. It turned into a game.

This is what happens when you do something she doesn’t want you to do.

Of course, Rylee would smile for Josie (her b.f.f.) so I got my smile. :)

Then, she agreed to smile WITH Josie and I got all 3 kids. Love this one!

I showed the kids how to smoosh the Rice Krispie mix so that it was flat enough to put the cookie cutter over it. Some of the smaller cookie cutters didn’t really work out, but there were still editble.

Did I really get a smile?

Goofy faces.

At last, it was time to decorate the tree and the kids did a great job.

Over all, with Christmas only 8 days away, my parent’s tree looks beautiful and the kids had so much fun decorating it. I cannot wait until we get to open all the presents under the tree and share it with all of you. I cannot wait for the best gift giving EVER!!!
